Our Flagship Projects: Targeted Action for Safer Malaysian Roads
To make significant strides in road safety, Majlis Keselamatan Jalan Raya Malaysia (MKJR) focuses efforts on strategic, high-impact initiatives known as our Flagship Projects. These programs utilize data, community engagement, and targeted interventions to address critical safety challenges in specific areas, aiming for measurable reductions in road trauma.
My Safe Road: Empowering Local Safety Solutions
This data-driven program tackles high-risk districts across Malaysia by empowering local communities. Focusing on identifying specific challenges like dangerous ‘blackspots’ and protecting vulnerable road users, “My Safe Road” implements tailored solutions including infrastructure upgrades, localized awareness campaigns, and enhanced enforcement support to create safer environments from the ground up.
Safe School Zone: Protecting Our Children's Journey
Ensuring children can travel to and from school safely is a paramount concern. The “Safe School Zone” initiative works collaboratively with schools, authorities, and communities to implement crucial safety measures. This includes advocating for and supporting the enforcement of lower speed limits (like 30 km/h) and improving infrastructure such as pedestrian crossings and traffic-calming around school areas nationwide.
